Capping off their 2021-2022 season in style, the Horizon Aigles girls hockey team walked off with the “A” banner at the 2022 Tournoi Franco-Ontarien in Kingston last weekend.

After cruising through play on day one with victories over the Champlain Requins (7-0) and Cité des Jeunes Cosmos (Kapuskasing – 7-1), the locals were pushed only slightly more in their one and only contest on day two (La Citadelle Patriotes – Cornwall – 5-1).

Moving on to semi-final play, Horizon vanquished Champlain for a second time (3-0) and then mirrored that victory in the final against Père René de Galinée Knights from Cambridge (3-0), as goaltender Kianna Trottier made it back to back shutouts.

Leading the way offensively for the Aigles were the trio of Kianna D’Attilio (7G – 8 pts), Danika Lalonde (6G – 10) and Alexie Olivier (5G – 10). Olivier has committed to the Guelph Gryphons of the OUA for the 2022-2023 while Lalonde will join up with the SUNY Canton Roos (NCAA Div III) in upstate New York.

Rounding out the Horizon roster are Pascale Tremblay, Courtney Smith, Maya Flores, Tessa Ranger, Meghan Paquette, Olivia Pitre, Gabrielle Gallagher, Mackenzie Selk, Mackenzie Cameron, Mika Gravelle and coaches Gus Lescault, Kristine Miron and Chris Hein.
